Real Estate Tax Assessment Law

March 25, 2019 //  by wpadmin

In Pennsylvania, the law provides that “a taxpayer should pay no more or no less than his proportionate share of the cost of government.” Don’t pay more than your fair share of the cost of government.

The taxes you pay on real estate is based upon the real estate tax assessment set by the county or city your property is located in. All county, school and local taxes are based upon this estimation of value. If the assessment is correct, you pay your fair share of the cost of government. However, if the assessment is too high, then you pay more than your fair share of the cost of government. Van Blunk Law, LLC advocates for fair and just property taxation on behalf of all taxpayers.

Pamela A. Van Bunk, Esquire helps commercial, non-profit and residential property owners across Pennsylvania to lower their real estate tax assessments saving them time and money.

COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

Ms. Van Blunk has extensive experience litigating complex real estate tax assessments including:

  • Hospitals and Medical office buildings
  • Office buildings
  • Apartment complexes
  • Cemeteries
  • Shopping and retail strip malls
  • Industrial properties
  • Auto Dealerships

TAX EXEMPTION

Whether your organization is a purely public charity, educational facility or religious organization, Ms. Van Blunk can help you obtain real estate tax exemption for your property. Because taxation is the rule, the organization seeking real estate tax exemption has a very high and affirmative burden to prove it is entitled to real estate tax exemption. To prove its entitlement, an organization must meet numerous constitutional and statutory requirements.

Ms. Van Blunk can assist your organization in obtaining real estate tax exemption.

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

For residential property owners, calculate your assessment value to see if you qualify for a reduction of real estate taxes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Please fill out the 3 boxes below to find out if your property may be eligible for a reduction in real estate tax assessment. Enter numbers only, no characters, commas or decimal points.

In order to proceed with an assessment appeal, please contact Van Blunk Law, LLC by calling 484-441-3077 or emailing vblaw-info@vanblunklaw.com.
